Brother Jasiel Martin-Odoom

Brother Jasiel Martin-Odoom is a recent Summa Cum Laude graduate of St. John’s University where he received his degrees in the fields of Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology, with a minor in Social Justice Theory. A native of Ghana, West Africa, Brother Jasiel’s interests lay in reduction of juvenile recidivism, social entrepreneurship and social justice issues of minority populations.

An avid believer in community service, Jasiel volunteered with Afterschool programs for students of color experiencing homelessness. He is a volunteer caseworker for Project Identity, a social service agency that provides indigent clients with various forms of identification from all 50 states and Puerto Rico. His passion for service and community organizing with different populations of color has led him to undertake research service trips in Puerto Rico and Limon, Ecuador. He is fluent in three languages.

Brother Jasiel is currently an MPA candidate at NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service in Nonprofit Policy and Management with concentration Social Impact, Innovation and Investment.
